ALINE @ X Games Day 1 Recap
Road notes from Team ALINE: Thursday June 28th
The first full day with X Games officially underway was epic for Team ALINE (that’s an understatement).
We hit the jackpot when legends Tony Hawk and Chistian Hassoi stopped by our booth together. As co-founder and fit guru Gordon said “That is as rare as winning a 20 million dollar lottery.” They were great guys, and Gordon even caught them discussing their foot health after their ALINE fitting.
Team ALINE got its first taste of gold in the form of freestyle motocross from Taka Higashino. We had set him up with ALINE’s the day before and they were obviously the secret to his success. He unveiled a never-before-seen backflip Rock Solid double grab in his first run to set the bar high for the rest of the competitors. His final score was 93.33 which included a Kiss Of Death flip, a heel-clicker flip, and a colossal no-handed Superman air to holy grab. He will be competing Friday night in Moto X Best Trick airing at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Right now, ALINE is helping the elite big air skateboarders land softer off the mega ramp. We’re psyched that ALINE young guns and X Games underdogs, Nolan Munroe and Alex Sorgente, made the final cut in the elimination round that went down yesterday.
Other fitting highlights included BMX big air athlete Kevin Robinson and skateboard park and vert superstar Andy McDonald.
